Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-22
Electronic Payments, Inc. ("EPI", "we", "us") collects, uses, and safeguards information about merchant applicants and active merchants. This Privacy Policy describes what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Application data: business name, legal entity, ownership, beneficial owners, address, tax ID, bank account details, and processing history. Required to underwrite your account.
- Identity verification: government-issued ID, date of birth, and Social Security or Tax ID numbers as required by card-network rules and the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Transaction data: cardholder transactions, batch settlements, chargebacks, and disputes processed through EPI.
- Usage data: M360 portal logins, IP addresses, browser metadata, and audit-log activity.
2. How We Use It
- Underwrite and onboard your merchant account.
- Process card transactions, settle deposits, and bill fees.
- Detect and prevent fraud, money-laundering, and chargebacks.
- Provide customer support and improve our services.
- Comply with legal obligations (card-network rules, KYC, BSA, OFAC).
3. Sharing
We share information with payment networks, sponsoring banks, third-party processors, and service providers strictly as necessary to provide merchant services. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Mobile Messaging (SMS)
When you provide a mobile number and check the SMS consent box on a booking, payment, or invoice page, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from that business – such as appointment reminders, confirmations, receipts, invoice notices, and occasional offers. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to cancel, or HELP for help. We record each opt-in and opt-out – including the consent language shown, the page, and the date – as proof of consent for compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and carrier (A2P 10DLC) rules.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile opt-in information or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used only to deliver the messages you requested and to operate the messaging service – including our messaging provider (Twilio), which transmits the texts on our behalf.
5. Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards consistent with PCI DSS and applicable financial-services regulations. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected parties of any material breach as required by law.
6. Retention
We retain merchant records for the duration of your account plus the period required by card-network rules and applicable law (typically five to seven years after termination).
7. Your Rights
Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain personal information. California residents can submit a CCPA Request to Know through our online privacy request form, or contact privacy@electronicpayments.com to exercise these rights.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via the M360 dashboard or to the email on file. Continued use of EPI services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
